Continental Road Trips

Other parts of France (& Belgium) that we’ve visited several times are the World War 1 battlefields & memorials around Ypres & on The Somme. We’ll be looking at putting a 3 or 4 day trip together for this later in 2023 if there is sufficient demand. For us it was a very emotional & life changing experience, especially being at the Lochnagar Crater at 7.30am on 1st July 2016 exactly 100 years to the minute that it exploded under the German lines. Other ‘must sees’ are the Thiepval Memorial to the missing, the Canadian Memorial at Vimy Ridge & of course the nightly Last Post ceremony at The Menin Gate in Ypres.
